Teenager killed in apparent hit-and-run on I-15

Police identify the victim as a 17-year-old.

The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the person whose body was found on Interstate 15 near 900 South early Thursday morning in an apparent hit-and-run as a 17-year-old boy. His name has not been released.

Reports of a body in the right lane of southbound traffic came in shortly before 1 a.m. According to UHP, paramedics confirmed that the teenager had been struck and killed by a vehicle.

That vehicle has not been identified. No one stopped and no drivers reported striking the teenager, according to UHP.
