Police are looking for a driver who struck and killed a 67-year-old man in Clearfield on Wednesday night, then drove away.

The victim was hit shortly before 9:30 p.m. near 500 N. Main Street, where there are no crosswalks, according to a news release from the Clearfield Police Department. Bystanders attempted to help the man, whose name has not been released, but he died shortly after he was taken to a hospital.

Witnesses told police the man was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a car headed north on Main Street. The vehicle — believed to be a cream-colored Cadillac passenger car — continued north on Main Street and then turned east on 650 North.

Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the hit-and-run or have information about it — including surveillance video — call them at 801-525-2806.
