Authorities at Capitol Reef National Park are requesting the public’s help in a search for a 77-year-old hiker missing since June 6.
Richard Discipio was last seen at the Days Inn in Torrey, National Park Service officials stated in a news release.
Officials say a collaborative search and rescue operation is being conducted by the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and units from Wayne and Sevier counties. Efforts are focused on the Chimney Rock region of the park, where Discipio may have been hiking between June 6 and June 8, according to the release.
Discipio is described by park officials as 5-foot-8, weighing 155 pounds, with green eyes. His clothing at the time of his disappearance is unknown.
Officials are asking anyone who has seen or spoken with Discipio, or has any information on his whereabouts, to call the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at 1-800-356-8757.
